This year's judging for Best Book Design from all over the world in Leipzig resulted in triple praise for books belonging to the Best Dutch Book Designs 2011. Best Book Design from all over the World is the most important international beauty contest for the book, Stiftung Buchkunst, keeper of the German Most Beautiful Books contest, being it's organiser. The award ceremony took place on March 16 at the Leipzig Book Fair. Astrid Vorstermans from Valiz resided in the Dutch jury and was present at the ceremony as representative of CPNB.
Since January 1st 2012, Valiz and Trancity have been working together closely. Both publishers find each other in a shared idea about the function of publications. Our books offer critical reflections, create interdisciplinary inspiration and create links between cultural disciplines and social economic questions. We publish these books with great personal involvement in the content, the social questions, the authors, the designers and the artists. Trancity creates and organizes books and events about the city, urban development and the public sphere. Valiz specializes in contemporary art, art theory, design and architecture.
